They said that the fire broke out in major commercial hub Cheni Chowk and Reshi Bazar in Anantnag, about 55 km from here in Anantnag district at 0200 hours. About a dozen tenders were rushed from different parts of the district to control the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance. Sources said that more than a dozen buildings and shops were damaged in the fire which was brought under control after about four hours.
